  • The Sherriff Centre, 2 Sherriff Road London, England, NW6 2AP United Kingdom (map)

Hannah Pawson and Gabriel Wynne are delighted to annoucne their album release show in the beautiful west London church at The Sherriff Centre. They’ll be playing with Fritillaries in it’s full fourpiece stringband form, in one of only four shows, with Kit Massey on violin and Andy Hamil on double bass. They’ll be joined by the incredible Jack Harris.

a duo very much on the up and able to deliver as easily, live, as in the studio.” - Jeremy Searle, RnR Magazine

Fritillaries

Playing together since childhood, Hannah and Gabriel share a unique intimacy and ability to draw audiences into their world. Their debut album - about places and people missed and found in isolation, and things found growing when we dig down into spaces the light doesn’t reach - will be released on 15th July 2022 on Pear O’ Legs Records.

Fritillaries’ music features americana instrumentation, folk roots and a pop song sensibility. It’s sometimes upbeat and driving, sometimes slow and contemplative, and always original and engaging. Something like Cara Dillon meets Born in the USA, played on banjo, guitar and mandolin.

This event will be one of only four stringband dates on the album tour (London, Birmingham, Bristol, Exmouth), with the duo being joined by Andy Hamill (Laura Mvula, Annie Lennox, Martha Reeves) on double bass and Kit Massey (Aphex Twin, Anna Calvi, Pete Tong) on violin. As a four-piece, Fritillaries are really something to be reckoned with: deep groove, lush strings, gnarly instrumentals.

"intimate and epic, with a sense of longing that is almost tangible" - Fatea Magazine

Jack Harris

Jack Harris' songs take a compassionate look at things both common and uncommon, and see them differently. They are literate, curious, often in character, and always intriguing. His latest album, ‘The Wide Afternoon’, produced by UK folk giant Gerry Diver (Sam Lee, Lisa Knapp, Tom Robinson), was released in November 2016 to universal press acclaim.

Jack was a SXSW showcasing artist at 17, and the youngest ever winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk Award in 2005 (previous winners include Gillian Welch, Devon Sproule and Anais Mitchell). He has been the recipient of the PRS ATOM award for new music creation, as well as an EFDSS creative bursary for songwriting.

‘Jack Harris is a priest of song who holds himself to a rigorous, ancient code of beauty most of us have forgotten exists.’ - Anais Mitchell
