Pear O’Legs Records is back at The Harrison bringing you the best in contemporary and traditional folk music.
Contemporary folk trio Effra are Alex Bishop (guitar), Tom Newell (fiddle, mandolin) and Aidan Shepherd (accordion). Heralding from Bath, Shrewsbury and Canterbury respectively, they met in London in 2011.Their backgrounds in folk, classical, jazz, gypsy jazz and rock combine to create highly intricate original compositions praised for its energy and intensity. Effra’s namesake, the subterranean river Effra which flows into the Thames underneath MI6, inspired the theme of their second album Below Ground, released in 2017.

Andy Skellam is a Bristol based musician who creates an idiosyncratic blend of surreal folk & dissonant blues using acoustic/electric guitar, banjo and his baritone singing voice. His music reflects darkly humorous & deeply affecting absurdities.
