Pear O'Legs Records Presents: Hannah Donelon & Grace Lemon + Jimmy Grayburn
Saturday 16 November 2019, 7pm
£5 advance, £7 on the door
West Street Kitchen, Old Market
This event took place on 16 November 2019
Pear O’Legs Records is very proud to be presenting Hannah and Grace’s first Bristol gig as new members of the gang. We’re showing them off as much as we can and West Street is our favourite place in town to do it. All with support from our main man Jimmy.
Hannah Donelon & Grace Lemon
Hannah Donelon & Grace Lemon are a traditional vocal duo whose distinct voices blend together through haunting harmonies and ornamentation. With a background in traditional Irish music, the duo draw from an array of wider influences to reconfigure ballads and tell stories with contemporary resonance. Through the simplicity and rawness of their music, Hannah and Grace tell lucid narratives of the lives and landscapes preserved in old songs with sympathetic accompaniment on the hammered dulcimer and harmonium.
Just a bit too earnest to be truly tongue and cheek, Jimmy’s music celebrates and mocks the mundane while hoping to stir the soul. All brought to you on 5-string banjo.
Anything from cheesy pop bangers to moody trad folk songs, Jimmy’s music has storytelling at it’s heart.
After performing with The Medlars and releasing their debut EP in 2017 Jimmy has gone solo, now it’s just him and his banjo, Morag.
