The All Night Chemist

‘Daft and Irresistible’ - Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

The All Night Chemist are a Sheffield based folk ‘dad-rock’ four piece. Their writing is inspired by the storytelling roots of traditional British and American folk music. Just a little too earnest to be truly tongue-in-cheek, their songs celebrate and mock the mundane while stirring the soul.

Their music combines 70s folk-rock and 90s absurdist indie, with a sound like, Neil Young and Wilco, with a touch of They Might Be Giants. It walks a delicate line between the domestic and the surreal, the tragic and the comic. With anything from cheesy pop bangers about mobile phones, to dark trad folk fighting the modern-day fur industry, their music has storytelling at its heart.
