Happy New Year!!!

I hadn’t thought about looking back on 2021 until I saw several friends on my social media with genuinely heart warming recounts of their years, whether that was them celebrating a change in outlook, or celebrating some success that they had had, or looking forward to a better year ahead. It made me think, maybe I should just check myself and see what positive highlights I can find for 2021 because (ironically for a promoter) I can be pretty good at down playing sucesses in my work with POLR, regularly hit with imposters syndrome or some other less easily described inherent sensation that I’m not doing very well at the thing I do.

So that’s what I did, and I’m very happy to say that POLR has done pretty well in it’s own small way. We’ve released two singles from two brand new acts on the label, introducing you to Loose T. and Fritillaries. We’ve started live shows again in London and Bristol after almost 18 months without them and organised UK wide tours with mutliple sell out shows for our artists.
Fritillaries have fund raised £4500 for their debut album which they’ll be releasing with us.

On top of that, we’ve done some serious behind the scenes work and 2022 is going to be our busiest year on record. If everything goes to plan we will be adding more musicians to the catalogue and will be releasing four studio albums. Fingers crossed!

To kick off the year, I’m going to be playing my first ever show with my new solo project and my band The All Night Chemist. We’re heading to our favourite haunt, The Harrison by King’s Cross and will be join by the wonderful Josh Geffin.

Get your tickets here.

I hope to see you there!

Jim
